I have trust issues with setting sprays. Find the right one, and it can become the most reliable, effortless product in your beauty stash. But reach for the wrong one, and you could end up with splotches of the formula all over your face, ruining any makeup you’ve painstakingly applied. I’ve experienced the latter more times than I care to remember, which is why I’m always hesitant to try a new setting spray. I ask myself questions like Will it actually make my makeup last longer? Will it break me out? What if it dispenses too much at once, and it makes my makeup look patchy? Cue Doechii’s “Anxiety”!

So when I finally decide to try a new setting spray, you know it’s a big deal. Enter: MORPHE’s Continuous Prep & Set Mist+. This formula pulls double duty in a few different ways, from offering both makeup and skincare benefits to being versatile enough to be used before or after makeup. I thought this all sounded great—but would it wow me enough to replace my regular setting spray? I put it to the test, and here’s what I found.

About the MORPHE Continuous Prep & Set Mist+ Review

Let’s set the stage with a rundown of this product’s long list of benefits:

What I Love About It

If you’ve ever tried this spray yourself, then you know the mist is unmatched. Not only is the particle size extremely fine, but the spray itself is air-powered, so you get a continuous mist (hence the name) without the need for an additional press on the nozzle. And the fact that you’re dispensing skincare ingredients with every spritz makes it feel even better to apply.

My favorite way to use this product is as the finishing step in my makeup routine, as I find that it helps all my products melt together seamlessly.

How to Use the MORPHE Continuous Prep & Set Mist+

The instructions state that you should hold the bottle eight to 10 inches away from your face, close your eyes, and spray evenly before and after makeup application. I would add that speed is your friend here, because although the mist is extremely fine, it does dispense a generous amount at once. So hold the bottle away from your face, close your eyes, then quickly move the mist around the entire area of your face. The whole process should only take a few seconds.

Next, let the product sit on your face for a bit before taking stock of any spots you might have missed. Then go in and add an extra spritz wherever you think you need it.

What to Consider Before Trying It

If you’re sensitive to fragrance, you may want to give this product a whiff before drenching your face in it, since it does have a light scent. Personally, I love the way it smells: fresh and botanical for total spa-retreat vibes. But if you’re not a fan, don’t worry. The scent doesn’t linger long.

I didn’t see a huge difference in makeup longevity after using this product, but I did notice that this mist gave my makeup a more natural, glowy finish (on top of feeling totally refreshing).

Final Thoughts on the MORPHE Continuous Prep & Set Mist+

What sets this setting spray apart is the skincare boost it gives you and the luxurious experience it creates. Skincare-makeup hybrids are all the rage, and this product fits right in, because it douses your skin in nourishing ingredients and makeup benefits at the same time. The ultra-fine mist and light fragrance serve to elevate the whole experience—turning this part of your makeup routine into a pampering moment that feels just like self-care. I’m ready to give my old setting spray a break so I can swap this one into rotation instead!
